The SharePartXXL Linked Picture Column for Microsoft® SharePoint® adds a powerful additional new column type to your SharePoint lists: a linked image or picture. By default picture columns in SharePoint generally cannot link to other content. But it's a typical requirement, that clicking an icon or image in a list redirects to related content on the current website or opens a new browser window with external content. The new field type offers this functionallity after installation out-of-the-box without any programming or configuration required.

The additional field type Linked Picture can be used like any SharePoint default column:
After installation the new field type Linked Picture can be added to all lists and libraries like default columns without any restrictions. It introduces a new field type for linked picture columns that is not available in SharePoint by default. By default a link column can be used as hyperlink or picture only.

Often used attributes are supported out-of-the-box:
Out of the box the Linked Picture column supports a hyperlink (URL), a picture link (usually a reference to an picture to an image library) a description (appears as tooltip or ALT tag) and an option to open the URL in a new window.
 
Image library quick open dialogue:
For better user experience the last used image library or other page URL that was used for image references in the current list or library can be opened with one click in edit form.
 
Can be used in WSS and MOSS:
The Linked Picture column type can be used in Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services (WSS 3.0) and in Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS 2007)
 
Absolutely no programming and configuration:
The Linked Picture column type can be used out-of-the-box after simple installation without any programming and configuration required. Any SharePoint admin should be able to install the solution and any SharePoint user can simply use it.
 
No modification of SharePoint installation files:
The solution does not modify any SharePoint installation files and not changes existing columns in any way. There are no side effects on existing data.
 
Evaluation version without any feature restrictions:
The evaluation version has no feature restrictions. The usage is limited to 25 add/edit events. You can license the solution after successful evaluation. Re-installation is not required.
