Products - Taxonomy Extension for Microsoft SharePoint - FAQs: How do I install the Taxonomy Extension?

Question

How do I install the Taxonomy Extension?

Body

  • Please check if you've installed Servicepack 1 for WSS/MOSS.
  • Run "installSPXXLTE.bat" - this will use the stsadm command line tool to install and deploy the solution to all local sharepoint site collections
  • Afterwards, please check the console output for a successful deployment of the Taxonomy Extension for Microsoft SharePoint
  • In a server farm scenario you have to copy language resources on every included server you did not run the installTE.bat file. To do this please run:
    "%CommonProgramFiles%\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12\BIN\stsadm.exe" -o copyappbincontent
  • To verify everything deployed correctly please go to C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\<port of your application>\App_GlobalResources and make sure you find the file: "SharePartXXLTaxonomy.resx" in here.
  • Login as Site Collection Administrator to the Root Site, where you want to use the Extension
  • Under "Site Actions" -> "Site Settings" -> "Site Collection Administration" -> "Site Collection Features" ...

Site Settings

  • ... you have to activate the SharePartXXL Taxonomy Extension

Site Collection Feature

  • Please continue with FAQ: "What are the first steps after installation? "
