Products - Taxonomy Extension for Microsoft SharePoint - FAQs: automatic vs. manual tagging

Question

automatic vs. manual tagging

Body

Items can be tagged either, manually or automatically. Please bear in mind, that humans are slow, inconsistent but ingenious. The tagging of content should be an easy and fixed part of the daily content creation and management process, e.g. by making the category field mandatory. SharePartXXL supports this process offering simple but powerful guidelines and rules. Moreover virtual any 3rd party categorizer can be used by API. SharePartXXL offers:

  • suggestions based on last used category set for the current list.
  • suggestions based a simple internal categorizer based on keywords and simple regular expressions (V2.0).
  • suggestions based on external categorizer. (V2.0)
There are different categorizer available, based on rules or based on more complex understanding of the language used.
