Products - Taxonomy Extension for Microsoft SharePoint - FAQs: How many categories are supported?

Question

How many categories are supported?

Body

All categories are stored in a standard SharePoint list. So the only limitation is how many items it can handle.
On microsoft site you find this article: click here

Our category trees are rendered on demand - just the part you expand. So it can handle many categories, too.

We have tested the solution with 2500 categories on a single server. Depending on your hardware and server (farm) scenario you can use the Taxonomy Extension with many more categories for sure.
